Easy to apply and excellent covering, matt wall paint for interior use. Ideally suited for coatings in ceiling areas, stucco work and on substrates that require a low-tension coating. Especially suitable for allergy sufferers.

SKU: 118 Category: Tag:

Until the 1960s, glue-bound distempers were the most used paints for the interior in West-Germany, in East-Germany they were used until the fall of the Berlin Wall. Glue paints disappeared from the market despite all their advantages due to the spread of ready-to-use plastic dispersion paints. The binders of former glue colours were mainly bone, starch and leather glues. KREIDEZEIT paint contains methyl cellulose as a binder. It is free of preservatives and defoaming agents and is therefore particularly suitable for allergy sufferers.
Glue paints are highly permeable to diffusion and thus have a positive effect on the room climate.

Wall and ceiling paint for interior use. Suitable for all structurally-sound, absorbent indoor renders (clay, lime, gypsum and cement), fillers, ingrain wallpaper, pure wallpaper, paper fleece, plasterboard, gypsum fibreboards, concrete and
firmly ingrained, matt and absorbent emulsion paints.
Unsuitable substrates are e. g. oil paints, plastic coatings, non-absorbent and permanently moist substrates.
For wet rooms, we recommend KREIDEZEIT Lime Paint.

Apply a base coat to all renders, fillers, levelled drywall and concrete with Vega Primer or Casein Primer or Methylcellulose Glue (article no. 1103 / 125 g Paint Glue on 8 L of water) and leave to dry completely. Do not apply to paper fleece/wallpaper and old emulsion paints.

Mixing the Paint
Stir in the specified amount of powder into clean, cold water, until the mixture is smooth. Use a powerful drill with agitator. Leave to expand for at least 30 minutes and stir well again before processing. The best processing consistency is obtained by mixing the paint one day before application.

Water required
Mix 1 kg of paint powder with 900 ml of water.
Adjust paint/water mixture to suit the surface; i.e. a little more water may be required for a particular application.

Application
Application temperature at least 8°C. Stir occasionally during application.
Two coats are typically required for full opacity. Do not attempt to cover dark and high-contrast substrates with only one coat of paint; excessive application thicknesses can lead to damage to the coating! Allow previous coats to dry completely before applying another coat. During the application, the wet paint is translucent; it only becomes fully opaque once drying is complete.
The first coat of Distemper can also be rolled. All subsequent coats must be applied by brushing with paint brushes.

Using a paint brush Apply evenly with a facade brush in a criss-cross pattern.
Using a roller Apply the paint liberally and evenly in a criss-cross pattern. Then immediately use a roller in a single direction, without applying any further paint.

The mixed paint must be applied in 2-3 days. Do not use paint that smells bad or rotten under any circumstances: Danger of prolonged odour problems even after drying!

Drying Times at Normal Climate
Safe to coat after approx. 8 hrs. Thoroughly dried after approx. 24 hrs.

Suitable Tools
Good quality, medium-pile paint roller (polyamide) and paint brush. Airless sprayers (min. air pressure 200 bar).
Recommended from the KREIDEZEIT range: Facade brush, Lime brush, Professional roller
