Preliminary Tests / Competence
The handling of drying agents requires good expertise and usually requires preliminary tests with smaller amounts of material. We will be happy to advise you in case of need.
Siccativation of natural drying oils max. 1% siccative on the oil content (i.e. 10ml siccative on 1 liter e.g. linseed oil or safflower oil).
Stir the siccative thoroughly into the oil and leave to rest for 24 hours before processing.
Re-siccativation of old oil paints max. 0.5 % siccative (i.e. 5 ml to 1 litre old oil paint or oil glaze)
Stir in the siccative thoroughly and leave to rest for 24 hours before processing.
Do not exceed the stated additional quantities, as overdosing can lead to strong and irreversible tackiness of the coatings.
Cleaning the Tools
