Tadelakt care instruction

Please adhere to these instructions to prevent mistakes in the use and care of Tadelakt surfaces.

Tadelakt surfaces are easy to maintain. To maintain its functionality, Tadelakt must be regularly soaped in splash water areas.
With the wrong cleaning product, however, the beautiful surface is quickly ruined. Tadelakt should therefore only be cleaned and maintained with Corfu Soap, Polishing Soap or Olive Care Soap from Kreidezeit.

Soaping / Care
After complete drying of the new Tadelakt surfaces, but at the latest after two days, apply diluted Polishing Soap evenly with a soft brush. After a short setting time, polish with a plastic film bale (HDPE).

This treatment should be repeated approx. every 1-2 months for maintenance, depending on wear and tear. Instead of Polishing Soap, Corfu Soap can also be used (preparation: dissolve 2-3 tablespoons in 2 litres of hot water).

Cleaning
Wash off dirt with hand-warm water with a little Olive Care Soap or Corfu soap (approx. 1-2 tablespoons in 8 litres of water) and a soft cloth or sponge. To avoid lime deposits of water drops, it makes sense to wipe off splash water immediately after use.

Notes
Tadelakt must dry out completely once a day. If Tadelakt remains wet for too long, discolouration, edges, fungus and dull spots may occur.
In any case, commercial household cleaners, scouring agents, scouring sponges, acidic cleaners or similar should be avoided. These products attack the Tadelakt or the soap! Acidic juices such as orange or lemon juice, wine and vinegar can also damage the surface. Tadelakt surfaces are not acid-resistant. Substances containing fat and colorants (food, personal care products, etc.) can cause irreversible stains.
